Guns, Drugs, and Money, Anyone? Addictive Shirts from Negrete, available here at BNS

What a bunch of bad influence, these Negrete people, selling the idea of guns and drugs and money! Or so I thought. But then I looked closer and realize there’s more to these shirt designs than meets the eye.

Negrete toyed with the things people often misuse and abuse — guns, drugs, and money — and converted them into statement t-shirts that are made of awesome. Now you can wear your favorite *cough*addiction*cough* with pride. :)

GUNS: (1) Blue Negrete Gun Control Shirt. “Gun control means using both hands in my land,” it says. Emphasis on “control” please, thankyouverymuch. (2) Yellow Negrete Friendly Fire T-shirt. Yes, that’s right, it’s a smiling fire gun. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you.

Drugs from Negrete

DRUGS: (3) Brown Negrete Drugs T-shirt. Alcohol is a drink, not a drug, take it from the Negrete pharmacy. (4) White Negrete Joy Syringe. Here’s a dose of Negrete “when routine bites hard and ambitions are low.”

Money from Negrete

MONEY: (4) Green Negrete Kilo T-shirt. Take it from master rapper Jeru the Damaja, yo! (5) White Negrete Money in the Bank T-Shirt. “All I need is money in the bank and sneakers on my feet,” now there goes a mantra to live by.

Hermione’s Winter Beanie in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

I can’t help it. I know it’s still technically summer in Manchester England, albeit some rain showers becoming more and more frequent, but watching the latest installment to the Harry Potter saga has made me wish I have an excuse to take out my winter outfit from the closet and strut them ala Hermione Granger.

Then again, wearing a beanie does not necessarily require snow, right? *insert big grin here*

Hermione's Winter Beanie from the Half Blood Prince

Hooch’s Grey Chiara Beanie is a perfect alternative-slash-look-alike to what Hermione was wearing when she, Ron, and Harry went out to get some butter beers from Hogsmeade. I think she was adorable, especially when the three of them started walking back to Hogwarts, and she was totally wonky and tipsy! Omygod. I think I have developed some form of girlcrush on that Granger girl. Is that so bad?

Okay, I stop gushing about Hermione now.

The thing with watching a Harry Potter movie is, drooling over the set and the costumes (and being distracted by it) is inevitable. I couldn’t stop noticing what the Hogwarts kids had on the entire film — preppy boarding school fashion that’s made up of pleats, checkereds, stripes, and blacks, and reds, and purples, and colors that are not too flashy and very chic. I think I’m gona try to do some HP-inspired attires here in the next few days. :)

For now, check out this awesome Grey Chiara Beanie from Hooch, including it’s matching Chiara Mittens, and Chiara Scarf.

You see, you don’t have to wait for winter to sport a sexy Hermione Granger winter get-up. ;)

Classic Black Dress, Every Woman Must Have One

Thank God it’s Friday, another work week has ended! I’m sure you, like me, have something planned tonight, I mean, come on, whatever Friday nights are for anyway? :)

Classic Black Dress

Whether you’re going to a party, or a date this Friday night, I say, why not dress up for the occasion?

You have to admit it, a woman has got to have a black dress ready in her closet any given time. What I love about black dresses is, you can match it with practically anything. You can wear it with whatever color, with whatever shoes, and in whatever style you want.

1. MbyM’s Black Handler Dress. Trust me when I say you can get away wearing this one with as formal as high-heeled strappy sandals to as casual as high-cut chuck taylors. The Black Handler Dress by MByM reminds me of a rocker-chick. You can wear it to a formal gathering or to a rock-and-roll concert and you’d fit in beautifully both ways.

2. MbyM’s Black Barnet Jumper Dress. Now this one can be worn with flats or heels. You can get away with the low neckline if you’re going to a soiree, but for a more conservative look, wear a tube top or a tank top underneath. Whether you want to wear it to the office, or to the mall, this Barnet Jumper Dress is as smart-casual as can be.

3. Religion’s Black Skull Cross Side Gather Dress. Finally, strappy heels is the way to strut this baby. This is the type of dress you can wear (over and over) to soirees and parties, while simply playing around with accessories each time. Dare to wear it with boots or chuck taylors? I know someone who would. At the end of the day, it really depends on the wearer how she carries herself. ;)

Lastly, whatever black dress it is you chose, you can’t go wrong carrying along this pretty little purse from Fernchurch. ;)

So.. have you at least a piece of black dress in your closet? You’d be surprised at the many ways you can accessorize and style it with! Enjoy your Friday night! Ta-ta!

M&MW: I Feel Like Wearing Pink Today

Am I being too gender-biased? But hey, the guys had their turn last week. I think that gives us a fair enough excuse to be pink and girly now, yes? :)

Mix & Match Wednesday: I Feel Like Wearing Pink Today

Pink and brown (khaki) look so damn good together, don’t you think? Today’s Mix&Match is for the pink-lovers. I know some people hate it because it’s too feminine, too sweet, and too weak. But for me, pink (not red) is for the brave, for the reason that not everyone can get away wearing it and looking fab in it.

Say it with me. Pink is the ultimate girl power.

So if you’re up for some pinkness, this is the outfit for you. A pink tunic shirt matched with a khaki “flirt skirt”, a multi-colored bag that matches perfectly with the shirt, accessorized with a brown cargo belt and pink Chuck Taylors. (Don’t be deceived, like I said before, we don’t sell Chucks. I just had to put that in for full effect. *winks*)

Comfortable, casual, girl-power, and more importantly, fashionable. Happy Wednesday, y’all! :)

In this set: (1) Pink Tunic Siren from Big Fluff (also available in Sea Green; (2) Khaki Flirt Skirt from Boxfresh; (3) Pink Multi-Tote Carbon from Vans; and (4) Brown Taffy Belt from Bench.
