Where To Put Your Money

Wallets are one of those accessories that aren’t really optional. After all, can you imagine just stuffing all your cash and credit cards in your pocket? We can practically hear loose change falling out and plastic snapping as you sit down. How about just throwing your money into your bag? Yeah, good luck finding them again.

Here’s a bit of wallet history. Before paper currency was introduced in the 1600s, people used purses to carry their coins. When paper currency came about in the West, billfolds were developed. The modern bi-fold wallet (with multiple card slots) can be traced back to the 1950s when the first credit cards were introduced.

These days, wallets come in different shapes, sizes, colours, designs, and material. Vans has cool and sturdy wallets to keep your moolah safe and organized. Take your pick from Cool It Now, available in Black and Torrid, and Favorite Skate (for the ladies); and Wall To Wall and Keyrific Wallet Gift Set (for the gents).

Checks, Please!

In 1982, Fast Times at Ridgemont High hit the big screen. Sean Penn, who played surfer dude Jeff Spicoli, became a star – and so did the shoes that he wore in the film. His kicks? A pair of Vans checkerboard slip-ons, which, almost three decades later, is still hip.

Of course, Vans has since then come out with other products that feature the iconic checkerboard pattern. From beanies and belts to sweaters and socks, there’s something for both boys and girls.

The Vans checkerboard may have gotten some upgrades along the way – colour changes, pattern tweaks, additional textures – but the thing is, its popularity has remained steadfast. And that, is what makes it a true classic.
