Pirate of the Caribbean in the Bahamas
What does Johnny Depp do when he wants to get away from it all and unwind? Go to his island of course!
Vanity Fair is privileged to take a tour into the most splendid Bahamas getaway Edward Scissorhands could get his hands on. The 45-acre paradise named Little Hall’s Pond Cay is the talented actor’s ‘decompressor’ and escape route to ‘normalcy.’
Six different beaches of the island were named after special people in Depp’s life. His partner, Vanessa Paradis and their two kids Lily Rose and Jack have beaches named after them and so have his ‘mentors late Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson (”Gonzo Beach”) and Marlon Brando,’ Vanity Fair’s Douglas Brinkley reports.
The sixth beach is called Heath’s Place after another talented actor, Heath Ledger.
Residences around the area are solar-powered. Their transportation means are golf-carts.
Depp says he ‘has never seen any place so pure and beautiful’ and that he values the anonimity and relaxation he has in his tropical paradise. When the actor is not swimming with the fishes, he amuses himself with painting.
