New Moon shines above competition
It will not be surprising if I tell you that the soundtrack of the upcoming movie, New Moon, the sequel to the chick lit, Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer is topping the Billboard charts.
The much awaited movie’s soundtrack, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” sold more than 150,000 copies. It’s now pegged at the top spot after landing on the No. 2 position after selling 115,000 in just three days. Even the people who are not fans of the vampire flick have reasons to like the new album with performances we expect to be good from class acts The Killers and Death Cab for Cutie.
The second album only needs to sell around 12,000 more copies to top the first in the Twilight series which was released on the last quarter of last year.
The New Moon album is still under the shadow of another teenage favorite, Miley Cyrus which tops all other albums this year in the movie albums category.
New Moon’s shine will most likely fade away next week as another expected top seller will enter the picture, once Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” hits the record stores, the Twilight sequel’s spotlight will be stolen from it.
