Elton Helps Slim Shady Battle Addiction
Sir Elton John might really be a knight in shining armor; For American singer Eminem, at least.
Sir Elton John, who has had issues with battling his previous substance abuse, says that he is helping Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, battle the rapper’s drug problem.
“I’ve been helping Eminem over the last 18 months and he’s doing brilliantly,” Elton says over British Association Press. Recently, the knighted singer said in his interview with BBC Radio 5, “I’m there if people want my help. If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there’s no point advising people if they don’t want to do it.
The 62-year old singer is said to be guiding the 37-year old rapper during the latter’s second stint in rehab. The rapper’s first drug rehab in 2005 was not too successful.
May of 2009, Eminem aka the real Slim Shady admitted of his drug addiction saying that his addiction got out of hand. He said that during the height of his addiction, he took a cocktail of addictive substances such as Vicodim, Valium and Ambien. He told Vibe magazine, “I don’t even know what I was taking.”
