Elin divorces Tiger Woods
After months of speculation about Tiger Wood’s marriage to Swedish model Elin Nordegren, the judgment was cast yesterday, Monday, confirming the couple’s divorce.
Though the divorce was likely following Tiger’s sex scandal with multiple women, the couple insisted on trying to surpass the rough patch by undergoing extensive marriage counseling. Tiger, on his part, also went through sex rehabilitation symbolizing his regret.
However, all these measures were to naught as the relationship finally ended in divorce. The decision was finalized at the Bay County Circuit Court in Florida.
The court decision read: “The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.”
The couple also released a joint statement in Tiger’s official website, http://web.tigerwoods.com.: “We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future.”
Both parties were given joint custody of their two children. The details about any monetary settlement for Ellen was not disclosed.
“While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us,” the statement also read.
Months after the incident, Tiger Woods, the most exceptional golfer of all time, decided to comeback to the green but his performance had also suffered from the incident.
