Cheryl Cole, is now officially Cheryl Tweedy.
The Fight for this Love singer will no longer have to fight for her broken marriage with footballer Ashley Cole. Their marriage is now officially over as proclaimed by London’s High Court on Friday, September 3.
And by her side is rumored boyfriend, Derek Hough, who is currently the favorite to win Dancing with the Stars. The rumored couple was at the Marquis Sunset Hotel in Los Angeles when the divorce was finalised.
A friend of the singer revealed: “Derek has been a tower of strength and he wanted to be with her at such an emotional time.”
His presence is not enough though, as the singer still has mixed feelings about her failed marriage to the football star. She wanted her marriage to last a lifetime and never expected to be such a young divorcee at 27.
A close friend said: “Emotions don’t disappear overnight. It was complicated. Cheryl is terribly saddened and upset over the end of her marriage.”
“When she exchanged her vows, she did so for life. She never thought it would end in such tragic circumstances,” the friend added.
